"O though digital ye be, Sephora is the digitalest by far to see." (So much for Lady Queen’s mirror and Snow White) ~~ Gloria Buono-Daly
Sephora’s new web site make-over and latest digital concept that attempts to tie beauty product shopping with intelligence has arrived today. Will Sephora's over-charged-digital-makeover be perceived as over-made-up or will all those beauty queens out there embrace the beauty goes with intelligence concept? I would love to hear your thoughts. Please share your comments below? Thanks!
Many Sephora.com digital features include the integration of Instagram and Pinterest, more mobile usage, etc.
Additionally, every item on Sephora’s online store now has a “Pin It” button. Enabeling users to browse Sephora employee pinterest boards and learn what their favorites are. This plus other enhancements by Sephora were done to present a more sophisticated and relevant experience for the customer.
According to a recent Mashable article titled "Sephora Gives Its Shopping Experience a Makeover", "The company has also added a new feed on Instagram where you can get a behind-the-scenes look at Sephora and its staff, as well as what trends are hot in the beauty world – we hear a color called Tangerine Tango is making headlines these days."
“Beauty has passionate shoppers, and Sephora is the mecca of beauty” Julie Bornstein, Senior Vice President of Sephora Direct told Mashable. She describes today’s updates as “Where beauty meets intelligence.” I wonder, will this trend of equating buying beauty products from companies that respect ones intelligence backfire?
All this in addition to it's many other digital initiatives such as tagging all of their products - a project that took 50 employees over 5000 hours to complete.
Sephora has done a great job of designing awesomeness with pure quality and divine perfection at the same time.. I just loved it. And this is a great idea. And it's obviously open for critics by feminists.. Must go through that.
ReplyDeleteWow.. Just had a look at the new website of Sephora - Was very impressive. Personally I think that Sephora has been combining beauty and intelligence and is a perfect combination. I just get amazed by her unique abilities ranging from beautiness, fashion to education and knowledge.
ReplyDeleteWell, I think that this new concept will certainly bring some positive and negative feedback.. When it comes to a change people certainly take some time to analyse it and start settling with it.
ReplyDeleteDenying will not be an option for most of them.. I am sure that this will surely gain popularity and success.
Most probably they will be criticized by borderline sexist.
When it comes to beuatiness and perfection, I guess that Sephora have already mastered that. But, over-assuming and hiding the inner complexions will not benefit for a long run.
ReplyDeleteI mean that there are people being fan of make-up but it's just only for hiding their inner weaknesses. I am sure these type of critics will be surely flooding up all over them.
At the same time, being best at something surely get's both root and the tip and they have to face the both. So, good luck Sephora.. May you have a great success. :))
Hmm.. A great work done by Sephora, they've really got the thing to be the best. When you reach at the top, you get both success and failure. i.e Both lovers and haters, but you need to maintain your professionalism and carry on with your work.
ReplyDeleteAs a whole, a decent job done by Sephora, I think I myself will go and take some services from them.
