Holy schmoley ... check out this longer video of our first blizzard 2016 January 23 at 3:00 pm
Amazing to see the wind blowing in multi directions during our first blizzard ( #blizzard2016 ) of the season on Saturday, January 23rd at about 3:00 pm. Check out this video. Wind pinwheel shifts pointing east and then back pointing west again. Spectacular. All weathermen must be kids at heart. I certainly feel like a kid again after being outside today and catching the winds of the eye of the storm here up in Yonkers, New York. The weather has that effect on me. Amazing I missed the directional shift rotation with my eyes but the video still captured it see video point beginning at 4:56 minutes to 5:00 minutes the pinwheel rotates another 180 degrees back to poining westward #blizzard2016 #weather #meteorologist #YonkersNewYork hope the weather makes you feel like a kid too smile emoticon enjoy !

Tamsen Fadal's book launch party for 'The New Single' at URBO in NYC 6/2/2015

In "The New Single," Fadal shares her experiences and advice for finding, fixing and falling back in love with yourself and aims to empower women all over the country. No stranger to love and dating books, she has already authored 2 previous books on dating and love. Based on her very own steps she took to get herself back after her publicized divorce, "The New Single" explains the importance of finding those small, simple things in life that really matter including loving yourself first. Fadal wrote this book to share what has helped her fall back in love with herself, heal as a person but especially to help others going through the same experiences.
THE FIRST 90 DAYS ARE CRUCIAL
The first 90 days after a split or divorce are so crucial because you are still in pain and not over it -- Fadal believes you are so "raw after a break-up because you don't know what to do ..." "The New Single" is an excellent roadmap for anyone needing to bounce back after a break-up or divorce. “The New Single,” is not just about, dating and relationships or divorce and break-ups. It is more of a self-help guide on how to avoid toxic, repetitive relationship patterns that hold you back combined with Tamsen's real life lessons-learned as well as stories from other women in similar situations. On Wednesday, October 29, 2014, celebrities, personalities, feminists, artists, business and media leaders gathered for The Women’s Media Center 2014 Women’s Media Awards. The event was hosted by Joy Reid – Joy Reid, host of MSNBC’s “The Reid Report.”
Co-founders Gloria Steinem and Robin Morgan were among the presenters.
Honorees:
♦ Katie Couric, global news anchor for Yahoo News - Pat Mitchell Life Time Achievement Award;
♦ Amma Asante, BAFTA Award-winning writer/director of A Way of Life and director ofBelle - WMC Directorial Excellence for “Belle” Award;
♦ Ursula M. Burns, chairman and chief executive officer, Xerox Corporation - WMC Carol Jenkins Visible and Powerful Media Award.
♦ Barbara Walters, creator & executive producer of “The View,” and ABC News special correspondent -WMC Trailblazing Media Award.
The Social Media Award went to Elianne Ramos, Principal and CEO of Speak Hispanic Communications and Founder of the Border Kids Relief Project. Ramos, (@ERGeekGoddess) also a Latino community advocate and is known as one of the most influential Latinas in social media. Ramos has a phenomenal online presence as social entrepreneur and is dedicated to various advocacy programs.
The social media honoree is selected online by twelve distinguished digital journalists, bloggers, and thought leaders.
The full house, sold-out event was held at Capitale, a Beaux Arts architecture building located on the lower east side of New York City.
Known for its opulence décor, Capitale features a 65-foot ceiling with an art glass skylight, spectacular interior Corinthian columns and marble mosaic floors throughout.

On Wednesday, October 29, 2014, celebrities, personalities, feminists, artists, business and media leaders gathered for The Women’s Media Center 2014 Women’s Media Awards. The event was hosted by Joy Reid – Joy Reid, host of MSNBC’s “The Reid Report”.
Co-founders Gloria Steinem and Robin Morgan were among the presenters.
Honorees are:
♦ Katie Couric, global news anchor for Yahoo News - Pat Mitchell Life Time Achievement Award;
♦ Amma Asante, BAFTA Award-winning writer/director of A Way of Life and director ofBelle - WMC Directorial Excellence for “Belle” Award;
♦ Ursula M. Burns, chairman and chief executive officer, Xerox Corporation - WMC Carol Jenkins Visible and Powerful Media Award.
♦ Barbara Walters, creator & executive producer of “The View,” and ABC News special correspondent -WMC Trailblazing Media Award.
The Social Media Award went to Elianne Ramos, Principal and CEO of Speak Hispanic Communications and Founder of the Border Kids Relief Project. Ramos, (@ERGeekGoddess) also a Latino community advocate and is known as one of the most influential Latinas in social media. Ramos has a phenomenal online presence as social entrepreneur and is dedicated to various advocacy programs.
The social media honoree is selected online by twelve distinguished digital journalists, bloggers, and thought leaders.

On Monday, October 20, 2014, philanthropists, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and TV personalities gathered for the eighth annual "Moving Families Forward Gala benefiting The Ackerman Institute for the Family." Tamsen Fadal, four-time Emmy-winning Pix 11 News Anchor hosted the Gala.
Besides Waldorf~Astoria signature dinner and Awards Ceremony the event featured a Silent Auction hosted by C. Hugh Hildesley, Executive Vice President, Sotheby’s and entertainment by renowned house band of the Carlyle Hotel, The Gillespie Quartet.

On Wednesday, October 1, the Mental Health Association of New York City (MHA-NYC, @mhaofnyc) hosted their Annual Gala at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City. More than 500 people attended the event, which raised over $1 million, a record-breaking milestone for this annual event.
The theme this year, “Working for Wellness and Beyond,” recognizes companies committed to educating and employing veterans including America’s Armed Forces and service members who experience significant mental health issues and unemployment while transitioning back to civilian life. Award winning ABC news correspondent, Bob Woodruff was Master of Ceremony.
Gregory J. Fleming, President, Morgan Stanley Wealth and Investment Management was honored for his commitment and support for educating and employing veterans.
Also honored was Staff Sergeant Salvatore A. Giunta, for raising awareness about veterans ongoing mental health needs. Sgt. Giunta is the first living person since the Vietnam War to receive the Medal of Honor. Interestingly, of the 79 living Medal of Honor recipients alive today, Sgt. Giunta was one of the two Medal of Honor recipients attending the gala.

Digital marketing and the days of likes & followers ▲ ▲ ▲

Although many marketers believe measuring the success of a campaign is by the amounts of "likes & followers," etc., research concludes that many companies who incorporate social media are not prepared because they do not have a metric strategy in place. Besides measuring social on engagement, conversion and revenue, there are many other challenges.
When it comes to sales and bottom lines, the digital marketing landscape no longer revolves around social media metrics and communities alone. There's much more to the equation which is more consumer driven and less social community based. With the many social platforms and digital channels, there is much speculation and inaccuracy in determining relationships.
The world of social media marketing is riddled with simultaneous text, images, geo-locations, iPhone, tablets, devices, etc., all in real time. There is no way managers can confidently make decisions based on complex data sources of this nature.
Major privacy programs are taking effect in 2014 and search engines are gradually incorporating hashtag search. Google has already implemented the use of hashtag searches on its search engine.
More and more marketers have accepted the fact that social media communities along with image-centric social media, geo-targeting and mobile marketing, are not meeting expectations. There's a whole lot more that will be going into digital marketing in 2014.
The hottest trends for 2014 are consumer oriented and are heavily involved with consumer protection and privacy.
As more and more people cling to their online devices (e.g., iPhones, tablets, laptops, etc.) marketers have accepted the fact that Web statistics (e.g., hits, followers, friends, likes, etc.) and social communities are not the major contributing factor to sales as originally anticipated.
In a world of big data, information and the feelings of being stalked on the internet, many consumers are opting for “privacy” over “social” despite dependencies on iphones, tablets, laptops, etc.
According to a recent Ad Age article, new laws and industry self-regulation privacy protections are being implemented in 2014 which will have a major impact for marketers and how they market to consumers.
Many thought leaders predict that 2014 will be the year of more customized content, video and technology disruptions; However, the days of tracking every move a consumer makes, will be diminishing as more and more legislative decisions and privacy protection programs get implemented.

Truly an inspiration and amazing honor to meet and interview Lily Tomlin, Host of the 5th Annual Women’s Media Center 2013 Women’s Media Awards; Tony, Grammy and Emmy® Award-winning actress, comedian, writer, and producer; Major force in American comedy.
Throughout her career which has spanned television, comedy recordings, Broadway, and motion pictures, Tomlin has enjoyed acclaimed success in each medium. She has starred in such films as Nashville, 9 to 5, All of Me, The Beverly Hillbillies, Orange County, and I Heart Huckabees. Her notable television roles include Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In as a cast member from 1970–73, Ms. Frizzle on The Magic School Bus, Kay Carter-Shepley on Murphy Brown, Deborah Fiderer on The West Wing, Lillie Mae MacKenzie on Malibu Country..
Tomlin has received numerous awards, including: four primetime Emmys; a special 1977 Tony when she was appearing in her one woman Broadway show, Appearing Nitely; a second Tony as Best Actress, two Drama Desk Awards and an Outer Critics Circle Award for her one woman performance in Jane Wagner’s The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe; a CableACE Award for Executive Producing the film adaptation of The Search; a Grammy Award for her comedy album, This is a Recording (a collection of Ernestine the Telephone Operator routines) as well as nominations for her subsequent albums Modern Scream, And That's the Truth, and On Stage; and two Peabody Awards — the first for the ABC television special, Edith Ann’s Christmas: Just Say Noël and the second for narrating and executive producing the HBO film, The Celluloid Closet.
